Grands Crus had been no bigger than 9-4 for the Paddy Power Gold Cup (2.35) first thing in the morning but only the sponsors and bet365 remain that price with every other firm tightening the favourite in to 2-1.
Like his father before him, Pipe has done well at ths meeting, he won the feature race 12 months ago, and another of the stable's runners, Our Father, has been well backed for the 1.20 and is now 5-2 having been 4-1 on the opening show.
Paul Nicholls has won the last two runnings of the JCB Triumph Hurdle Trial which gets the Cheltenham card underway at 12.45 and his runner Far West is being backed to complete the hat-trick. Ruby Walsh's mount is now around the 6-4 mark.
Lingfield stage two Listed races on their all-weather track and it is the Tom Dascombe-trained Ballista who has attracted support in the Blue Square-sponsored Golden Rose Stakes at 2.50. Early shows of 9-1 have vanished with 7-1 the general price on offer now.
