ROCK ON RUBY, winner of the Stan James Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this month, has been made the 9-4 favourite for the John Smith's Aintree Hurdle by Paddy Power.
The Paul Nicholls-trained seven-year-old was winning a Grade 1 for the first time at Cheltenham and has the chance to make it two on the bounce should he line up in the Aintree race next month.
Nicholls has already said that Rock On Ruby could go for the race along with stablemate Zarkandar, who was fifth in the Champion Hurdle.
Commenting on the Aintree Hurdle prices, Paddy Power said: "One of Rock On Ruby's syndicate members has suggested that he thinks Rock On Ruby will win the next two Champion Hurdles.
"More immediately this race will give anyone out there who thinks this year's victory might have been a fluke the chance to take him on."
