UBAK chose racing's most famous day to post a first win as he slammed his rivals with an impressive romp in the opener on Grand National day at 22-1.
Ridden by Jamie Moore for his father Gary, the five-year-old only arrived on the scene approaching the second last having been well down the field to that point.
Laying down the gauntlet to the gambled-on Seefood, he led at the final flight before cruising clear to win by 16 lengths. Utopie Des Bordes finished second at 9-2 with Seefood three quarters of a length further back in third at 7-1.
The winning rider said: "I rode him at Cheltenham in the Neptune when we made the running and just got done for toe coming down the hill. That was his first run for months and if you look back he had decent form behind My Tent Or Yours so he did actually have a chance.
"He has won very well and he is a nice horse for the future."
Ubak was adding his name to an illustrious recent roll call in this race as the last three runnings have gone the way of Simonsig, Spirit Son and Peddlers Cross.
