Sea Lord wins the Totesport Mile but was also entered in Listed contest

Sea Lord will not runin Listed race

FRIDAY'S Totesport Mile winner Sea Lord will not contest the Listed Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday afternoon.

Trainer Mark Johnston entered the son of Cape Cross in both contests and admitted the dilemma he faced in selecting which route take.

Johnston said after victory on Friday: "We had a terrible dilemma with him, he's a little above handicap level and did we go for the handicap where you're in the hands of the gods but the money is a lot better, or did we go for the Listed race where he should be tomorrow? I'm glad it's worked out."


But there was still a possibility Sea Lord could tackle both races. Johnston added: "We'll wait and see how he is and speak to theowner. I don't know whether he'll run tomorrow."
