Bankable on target for Select assignment
NEWMARKET GALLOPS, Wednesday
BANKABLE heads for the Group 3 Select Stakes at Goodwood on Sunday, and the across-the-flat gallop on Racecourse Side was the chosen venue on Wednesday for the Luca Cumani-trained colt to have his final preparation.
The Medicean colt worked with Presvis and one other, and worked strongly as he prepared to improve on a splendid effort behind Raven's Pass in the Celebration Mile at the West Sussex venue last month.
Kossack (Sara Cumani) looks the sort to continue to progress with experience, and he moved well with Factotum and Curtain Call, who was given an easy time on his first gallop back since the Grand Prix de Paris.
Time Control had to have the help of the stewards to get off the mark at Chester, and the Sadler's Wells filly's work at home shows her to be significantly better than her racecourse displays suggest.
Purple Moon is working towards his return, and the Cambridge Road Polytrack was the chosen venue for his latest spin as Cumani looks for suitable conditions for the fast-ground performer.
John Gosden's team stretched out on Long Hill, and Centennial (Rab Havlin) looked good in his exercise with a reliable lead.
Huntdown (Jimmy Fortune) should soon improve on his debut second at Newmarket, and moved well in company with Flintlock.
Henry Cecil's team was in action on the Al Bahathri Polytrack, where Midday (Ted Durcan) moved through to take the plaudits in herspin with Honest Quality.
Alpha Tauri is coming along, and he moved well for Tom Queally in his spin with one other.
After a changeover, Queallytook the leg-up on Cloudy Start, who moved strongly in his spin with Kings Troop.
Jack Dawkins (Durcan) continues on the comeback trail, and he took another step forward when moving well in exercise with Walking Talking.
One to note
Bankable (L Cumani) Working well as he builds up to the Select Stakes at Goodwood on Sunday
