Midday faces six rivals in Nassau Stakes defence

MIDDAY will bid to defend her Nassau Stakes title at Glorious Goodwood on Saturday after featuringamong a field of seven at the final declaration stage on Thursday morning.

Trained by Henry Cecil, the four-year-old finished second on her seasonal reappearance in the Middleton Stakes at York to Sariska, and will bid to follow up last year's success with Tom Queally again in the saddle.

Rumoush was the most notable absentee as connections had supplemented her for the Group 3 Prix de Pysche at Deauville.

French raiders Stacelita and Rosanara were both declared, with Antara, Barshiba, Strawberrydaiquiri and Contredanse completing the line-up.
