ITALIAN star Worthadd (Sir Mark Prescott/Mirco Demuro) makes his first appearance for new trainer Sir Mark Prescott at Baden-Badenon Thursday when he contests the Group 3 Badener Meile on the second day of Baden-Baden's Spring meeting.
Winner of the Derby Italiano in 2010 and a host of other top races, Worthadd has proved even more effective over shorter distances and his second place to Canford Cliffs in the Lockinge a year ago is by far the best form of any of the runners.
He was partnered then, as he will be this time, by Mirco Demuro and although carrying a 2kg Group2 penalty seems certain to start a very short-priced favourite.
The only other foreign runner is Dutch-trained Ferro Sensation (Jan Pubben/Adrie de Vries), but on latest Cologne running there is very little between him, Nafar (Waldemar Hickst/ Alexander Pietsch) and Gereon (Christin Zschache).
Peter Schiergen saddles two runners, Eigelstein (Filip Minarik) and last year's third Neatico (Andrasch Starke), while Point Blank (Mario Hofer/Terry Hellier) and the supplemented Sir Oscar (Toni Potters/Josef Bojko) complete the field.
However on official ratings Worthadd has plenty in hand.
