Dusseldorf: German 1,000 Guineas (Group 2) 1m, 3yo  fillies

FOLLOWING Caspar Netscher's win in the German 2,000 Guineas at the beginning of this week, Electrelane (Ralph Beckett/Jim Crowley) will attempt to complete a British Classic double in Germany when she contests Sunday's 1,000 Guineas at Dusseldorf.

She finished second to Laugh Out Loud at York last month and was third in the Group 3 Fred Darling at Newbury before that.

Shane Kelly, who partnered Caspar Netscher, can complete a Guineas double on Waldemar Hickst's Dessau, who took a trial over course and distance a month ago by a nose from Cherry Danon (Peter Schiergen/Andrasch Starke), with Waldtraut (Andreas Wohler/Josef Bojko) back in third.

Dessau meets that pair on 2lb better terms and Hickst is confident she can confirm the form.

He said: "She needed that race and won despite not getting a clear run. I am sure she will run a big race."

Wohler also runs Paraisa (Ted Durcan) and said: "I expect both of mine to run well, but it might depend upon the weather. Paraisa prefers fast ground but Waldtraut is better on the soft."

Light rain is forecast, but the going is likely to be good.
