Lyons prepares Carnival team - without Dohasa

GER LYONS, who enjoyed success with Summit Surge on his first venture to Dubai last year, is sending three horses for the carnival, which begins later this month.

However, Dohasa, a seven-time winner who was placed on all three starts in Dubai a year ago and who won the Listed Digibet Sunbury Stakes at Kempton on his most recent start last month, has been sold and will be racing for new connections.

Lyons said: " Dohasa will be running in Dubai but he won't be on my team for the carnival as a sale has been completed. Anthony Stroud has bought him.

"I'm sending three horses out there on Monday - Palazzone, Ohiyesa and Berg Bahn. They aren't yet quite in the Summit Surge or Fiery Lad league and will have to be on their A game, but they were invited and are ready to travel. They will enjoy the better weather out there, that's for certain."

Palazzone, a four-year-old, is a four-time winner, three times on the Polytrack at Dundalk, while Berg Bahn, a three-year-old filly who is likely to be aimed at the Dubai 1,000 Guineas, won on her debut at Fairyhouse before finishing fourth in aListed race at the Curragh in October.
