Frozen Ludlow to inspect on Tuesday for Thursday
OFFICIALS at Ludlow will inspect the course at midday on Tuesday to see if Thursday's jumps meeting can go ahead.
Clerk of the course Bob Davies said that the track has been raceable for just two days since November 24 and, with temperatures set to drop to -3C on both Sunday and Monday night, he has decided to call an inspection.
Davies said on Sunday afternoon: "We will inspect on Tuesday as the forecast is for a frost tonight and tomorrow night and a cold day tomorrow.
"We have had three nights without frost but the frost is still in the ground and we are not raceable today.
"Tonight it is forecast to drop to -3C, up to 2C tomorrow and then -3C again tomorrow night.
"It has got a bit better but the problem is the cold spell has gone on for so longprospects are not the best."
The ground on Sunday afternoon was described as good to soft (frozen in places).
