HAYDOCK has been forced to abandoned Saturday's meeting due to a frozen track.
The course, which was due to feature the return of Peddlers Cross in the Grade 2 Stanjames.com Champion Hurdle Trial, was forecast temperatures of -1C overnight.
However, the temperature dipped much further than expected to -4.5C overnight and clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright had to admit defeat.
"We had a frost and temperature of -4.5C and it's beaten us," he said. "We were forecast -1C but this was too much."
He added: "Rescheduling is one for the BHA and I'm sure they'll be looking at it."
