Friday rides: Fallon reveals his best chances

Leading Flat jockey Kieren Fallon talks you through his best rides on Friday

One of my strongest rides of the week is Vermont who runs in the 1m2f maiden at the July festival (4.25).

This fine son of Muhtathir made an encouraging debut at Sandown last month when I rode him to finish second of six in a tight contest. Only one of my five rivals that day has run since (Sadiq) and he gave the form a boost by winning a 1m2f maiden.

As I say so often you expect a fair bit of improvement from Luca's (Cumani) from their first to their second and I would be very hopeful this colt can give the Wildenstein family a winner at the July festival.

The dry spell is a big boost to the chances of Supernova Heights in the opening fillies' handicap (1.40) as she loves to hear her hooves rattle. Her best runs have all come on quick ground and she has an each-way shout in this competitive event.

She is trained by the master of Manton and I also ride the appropriately named Mantonize for Brian Meehan in the 7f maiden (3.50).

Some smart horses have won this race including Rio De La Plata, Ghurair and Elusive Pimpernel, so it is a race to record and watch back a few times as you are certain to see several future winners in this race.

My last ride on the card is Common Touch trained by Willie Musson in the mile handicap (5.35).The handicapper seems to know where he is with this horse as his wins have been off marks of 83, 88, 85 and 89 and dropping back down to 89 today for the first time since winning off that last autumn he has to be competitive. I don't often ride no-hopers for Willie.
