FRANKIE DETTORI could finish only eighth on The Act in the Swiss Derby, as the finish was fought out between two French-trained challengers.
Green Fees (Nicolas Clement/Thierry Thulliez) got the better of compatriot Raheb by a head, with a half-length back to local hope Shisun in third.
The winner was completing a hat-trick, having been successful at Chantilly and Strasbourg.
Dettori's mount The Act had won the Swiss 2,000 Guineas but appeared not to stay the extra half-mile and was beaten about seven and a half lengths, while Rab Havlin finished last of the ten runners on Choix Celebre.
