Frankie Dettori: stewards will be studying his file on December 4
Dettori hearing set for next Tuesday
FRANKIE DETTORI'S hearing in front of a disciplinary committee of the French stewards has been scheduled for next Tuesday, December 4.
The three time champion jockey has been summoned to the hearing in Paris after an independent medical commission last week found there was a disciplinary case to answer, following Dettori's positive test for a banned substance at Longchamp on September 16.
Dettori gave evidence to the medical commission by phone last Tuesday, after which the three doctors suspended his license to ride in France pending the session in front of the disciplinary panel.
The French authorities continue to maintain their silence on the substance for which Dettori failed the test on Arc trials day but did confirm last week that he was one of five jockeys to be randomly selected at Longchamp.
In a statement issued by his legal team last Wednesday, Dettori said he fully accepted the findings of the medical commission and would reserve further comments until after the stewards' decision had been made public.
Dettori faces a six month worldwide ban from the sport should he be found guilty of a serious narcotics breach.
