Siyouma to seek further success in Kyoto Mile
France: Siyouma could bid for a third Group 1 success in short order after Francois Doumen identified the Mile Championship in Kyoto as his well-travelled filly's next target.
Having won Newmarket's Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes and then last Sunday's EP Taylor Stakes in Toronto within the space of a fortnight, Doumen is keen to keep rolling with Siyouma.
"She's been invited to Japan for the Mile Championship and she qualifies for a bonus if she can win that having already won the Sun Chariot," outlined Doumen. "The race is in a month (November 18) but I think she won quite easily on Sunday and didn't have a hard race physically or mentally, so we'll work to wards that."
Having landed Group 1s over both 1m and 1m2f, Doumen believes the daughter of Medicean has become versatile in terms of trip.
"At the beginning of the year she was a little immature so I preferred to see her run over a mile but she's strengthened up and she proved Sunday that a mile and a quarter suits her as well," explained Doumen.
"You must remember that when she ran in in the Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville she was taking on the best fillies in Europe and the world at that distance and she was only beaten a length and a quarter, so you can't consider that to be a bad performance."
