Princesse D'Anjou reverts to hurdling

Preview: France, Sunday 2.40pm GMT

Auteuil: Prix Leon Olry-Roederer (Group 2) 2m5½f, 5yo+

TOP chaser Princesse D'Anjou (Francois Cottin/Philip Carberry) has an ideal opportunity to recapture her winning form when she reverts to hurdling at Auteuil on Sunday.

Without a victory since May 2008 in the Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris (French Gold Cup), the eight-year-old mare shares bottom weight with the five year old Royal Penny.

Although she has never won over hurdles, Princesse D'Anjou should be near her peak for this €175,000 contest as she put in an excellent effort when second to this year's Grand Steeple-Chase winner Remember Rose in the Group 1Prix La Haye Jousselin chase on her seasonal debut.

Main danger looks to be the talented ten-year-old Grande Haya, who was second to champion hurdler Questarabad in the Group 1 Grand Prix de l'Automne last time.

Worldbest, Shinco du Berlais and Tell No One finished in that order behind Grande Haya last time and they all take up the challenge again, while Latin Mood won a Listed hurdle on his last start.
