LEAUPARTIE (Fabrice Chappet/Gregory Benoist) proved herself an improving filly when denying the heavily backed Romantica.

Owner Gerard Augustin-Normand was belatedly recouping most of his €55,000 "stake" after Leaupartie had finished just out of the money when supplemented in the Prix de Diane last month.
Settled by Benoist in second behind the favourite's pacemaker Magic Motif, the daughter of Stormy River quickened well and was always holding Romantica and the patiently ridden Bugie D'Amore.
"She's won her Group 3 now and is progressing well, so I'll sit down and have a talk with her entourage before we decide what's next, but she has plenty of options," said Chappet.
The Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained Falls Of Lora failed to pick up in the straight having travelled kindly under Christophe Lemaire.
"We had a good trip with a decent pace and she seemed all set to deliver but she couldn't change gear," said Lemaire. "I think she's a good filly but there aren't really any excuses, it wasn't her day."

Ioritz Mendizabal: impressed
PICTURE: Getty ImagesHaving made all to the turn, Discernable readily took a couple of lengths out of her rivals as they straightened up and was worth a shade more than her three-quarters-of-a-length advantage over favourite Khadima.
"The trainer told me just to get her to relax and I was able to set quite a slow pace in front," said Mendizabal.
"When I asked her to go she accelerated very quickly, which was impressive off such a slow pace."
