Laskaline leads home a 1-2-3 for Cherel in Pau feature
Laskaline crowns Cherel domination of Pau

TRAINER Guy Cherel enjoyed a moment of personal triumph as Laskaline led home a 1-2-3 for his Maisons-Laffitte stable in the last major prize of the winter meeting.
Cherel has dominated the four-year-old chasing division at Pau this winter and so it was no surprise that he was responsible for the market pricipals here.
Laskaline was the choice of stable jockey Cyrille Gombeau and sent off at 4-6 to make it three from three over fences at the track.
Stablemate Eclair Gris was backed down to 7-2 clear second-favourite and the money looked to be well placed turning for home as jockey Kevin Guignon forged into a clear lead after Laskaline jumped the last ditch somewhat hesitantly
As when the pair had met last month Laskaline defied a disliking for the cloying ground to wear down Eclair Gris although the winning margin was greatly reduced as the Martaline filly just got up to score by a head.
"I think she's a good filly, although she can be a bit of a rascal," said Cherel. "But if she continues to progress I won't mind that side of her nature."
Early leader Tell Everyone stayed on for third to complete the Cherel clean sweep, while another of the the chief protagonists Soldier Two was pulled up by David Cottin with nearly a circuit still to travel.
