A SHARP frost forecast to hit Fairyhouse on Tuesday night has forced officials to schedulea 7.30am inspection before Wednesday's Irish Racing Post race day.
A morning check was passed for Tuesday's meeting at the County Meath track after the frost forecast for Monday evening failed to materialise.
Despite the prospect of temperatures dipping to -6°C, racecourse manager Caroline Gray is optimistic of racing going ahead.
"We're pretty confident," said Gray. "Wednesday is set to be a bright and sunny day and the temperature is due to rise to around 6°C. The first race isn't until 1.40pm, so we should be alright."
