Lynch lands first US winner at Philadelphia

FERGAL LYNCH has ridden his first winner since quitting Britain to rebuild his career in the States.

The jockey partnered three-year-old filly You Bet Lily to victory in a $24,000 claimer at Philadelphia Park on Monday night on the Pennysylvania Derby undercard.

Sent off a near 10-1 shot, You Bet Lily is trained by Lynch's brother Cathal, who handles 40 to 50 horses at the Pennsylvania track.

Lynch last week left Britain for America after featuring in the recent Panorama investigation into alleged race-fixing.

Still waiting to hear if the BHA are planning to take any further action in light of Panorama, Lynch vigorously denies any wrongdoing and was acquitted at the Old Bailey corruption trial.
