Although a yellow flag was immediately waved indicating the false start, Joe Fanning on Northern Dare, Hayley Turner on Great Charm and Alan Munro on River Kirov failed to pull-up their mounts before the finishing line and under the rules of racing the three horses were forced to miss the race.

At the second time of asking the race got on the way minus the three withdrawn horses, with Street Power eventually coming out on top after a photo finish.
