FAIRYHOUSE has called an inspection for 7.30am on Tuesday before racing the same afternoon, due to the threat of a severe overnight frost.
Course manager Caroline Gray said: “We are perfectly raceable on Monday and the ground is heavy, but ground temperatures are expected to dip to as low as -5C overnight so it could be a waiting game in the morning.”
The going at the course on Monday was described as heavy. The seven-race card is scheduled to start at 1.55pm.
Pierce Molony, manager of Thurles, described the ground as soft, soft to heavy in places before the meeting on Thursday.
Speaking on Monday, Molony said:“The next couple of nights are to be quite cold alright but, touch wood, we should be okay.
"The heavy is gone out of the ground and I’d say it’s lifeless at present.”
