Feel Like Dancing and Storm out of St Leger

THE John Gosden-trained Feel Like Dancing and Aidan O'Brien's Eye Of The Storm were the two most high-profile absentees when the final field for Saturday's Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster was revealed on Thursday.

Outsider London Bridge was the only other runner out of the 14 possible runners to bow out.

The exit of Feel Like Dancing leaves Gosden, winner of two of the last three St Legers, with a sole representative - joint-favourite Excess Knowledge, the Gordon Stakes second who will be ridden for the first time by James Doyle.

Galileo Rock shares favouritism at a general 7-2.

O'Brien, meanwhile, is two-handed in the race with Leading Light, the 9-2 third favourite who will be ridden by son Joseph O'Brien, and Foundry, who will be steered by Ryan Moore.

Godolphin's riding arrangements for their three-strong team were also revealed. Mickael Barzalona will ride Cap O'Rushes, Silvestre de Sousa is on Secret Number, and William Buick retains the ride on Libertarian.

Seven runners were declared for the Group 2 At The Races Champagne Stakes, but there was no spot in the line-up for Paul Cole's Royal Ascot winner Berkshire, withdrawn due to fears about the ground.

The going at Doncaster remains good to soft, however the forecast for Thursday night carries a high risk of significant rainfall. Between 4mm and 8mm is predicted to hit the track.
