WAYNE HUTCHINSON will get the leg up on Cappa Bleu in the Hennessy Gold Cup, trainer Evan Williams revealed on Thursday morning.
Williams was forced to seek a new jockey after Jamie Moore ruled himself out of the ride due to further problems with his ankle, which was fractured in three places after a fall at Southwell in August.
However after consulting with owners Mr and Mrs Rucker, Hutchinson has been given the nod, with his ability to ride off 10st a deciding factor.
Williams said: "Wayne Hutchinson will ride Cappa Bleu, he can do 10st and that was the thing that tipped it in his favour. I spoke to Mr and Mrs Rucker this morning and we decided to go with Wayne as he's comfortabledoing the weight."
Hutchinson may sit on the horse on the morning before the race, and Williams also spoke of his sympathy for Moore.
He added: "I feel very very sorry for Jamie, it's very unfortunate andfingers crossed there will be another opportunity for him down the line."
