Aga Khan's Kesampour set for Derby trial

France: The Aga Khan's Kesampour could be set to contest the Investec Derby if he runs up to expectations in Saturday's Prix Greffulhe at Saint-Cloud.

He is one eight colts left in the Group 2 event which Andre Fabre used last year as a prep for Pour Moi who went on to become the first French-trained winner of the Derby since Empery in 1976.

Kesampour, who was entered in the Derby at the second entry stage and is a general 20-1 chance, is unbeaten in three and made a faultless seasonal debut in the Listed Prix Francois Mathet.

Trainer Mikel Delzangles said on Monday: "The colt has been working well and runs in the Greffulhe. We may consider running Shalamzar as a pacemaker."

Fabre has left three horses in the race, Last Train, Bolingbroke and Albion, although the trio do not have Derby entries.
