THE going for Investec Derby day at Epsom has changed to good to firm from good, good to firm in places.
Despite watering parts of the course on Friday evening, Epsom clerk of the course Andrew Cooper confirmed the going change on Saturday morning after a dry night.
"We're good to firm and it's going to be a hot day," hesaid.
"I had a good walk of the whole track after racing and thought it was sensible to water the home straight and bits on the top of the hill - put about three millimetres on.
"We're a shade quicker than yesterday, but you'd expect that with the conditions. Given everything I don't think myself and my team could have done a lot more. It's good fast Flat racing ground."
Derby day temperatures are forecast to soar to as much as 29c with humidity and cloud cover expected to be greater than on Friday.
The first five races at Epsom will be broadcast live on BBC1 with the Derby due off at 4.00pm.
