Elliott excited by Toner's  chasing campaign

TRAINER Gordon Elliott is looking forward to sending Toner D'Oudairies over fences this season and thinks the five-year-old could progress into a "nice novice".

The French-bred gelding just missed out on glory at the Cheltenham Festival in March when he went down by a neck to Attaglance in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

His season ended with a seventh-place finish in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse in April.

Elliott, who trains the son of Polish Summer for Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud, said: "He ran a big race when second in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham last season and he'll make a nice novice chaser this year."
