Ahern partners Swedish star Peas And Carrots

EDDIE AHERN is on duty in Copenhagen on Sunday to ride the Swedish challenger, Peas And Carrots, in Denmark's only Pattern race, the Group 3 Scandinavian Open Championship at Klampenborg.

Ahern knows the Lennart Reuterskiold seven-year-old well, having guided him to a Group 3 success at Taby two years ago.

He was not aboard when Peas And Carrots won this race (at the third attempt) last year, but was back in the saddle last time when the partnership landed a 1m1f Listed event at this course on June 27.

There are no raiders from outside Scandinavia. Boxing Day (Bent Olsen/Shane Karlsson), a son of Galileo who has won three of his five starts since being acquired for 36,000gns out of Aidan O'Brien's yard, is the solitary three-year-old in a field where the average age of the 11 contestants is six.
