Champion could be minus Marmalade and Murtagh

SERIOUS doubts remain about Duke Of Marmalade's participation in the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes should the re-scheduled Leopardstown meeting take place on Sunday.

The card originally scheduled for Saturday was postponed following an early morning inspection due to water lying on parts of the track and a further inspection was called for 7.30am on Sunday.

Aidan O'Brien said on Saturday morning: "There is still a doubtabout Duke Of Marmalade running because of the ground situation at Leopardstown.

"The instinct is not to run, but a final decision will probably be left until the morning.

"Johnny (Murtagh) is going to Longchamp to ride Henrythenavigator in the Prix du Moulin and should it be decided to run Duke Of Marmalade at Leopardstown then Seamie(Heffernan) will ride him.

"If Duke Of Marmalade runs then Colm O'Donoghue will ride King Of Rome and if Red Rock Canyon runs, Seanie Levey will ride him."

Dry weather is forecast for the Dublin area for the rest of Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday.
