PJA medical adviser starts work
DR ANNA-LOUISE MACKINNON, who starts work on Monday as the Professional Jockeys' Association's medical adviser, is confident she can overcomeany disquiet in the weighing-room over a woman filling the newly created position.

Dr Mackinnon, 35, whose appointment last autumn was followed by champion jockey Tony McCoy resignation as the organisation's joint-president, will be based at the PJA offices in Newbury where her first priority will be establishing the role she is expected to play.
"To start with, it's going to be very much a fact-finding mission," said Dr Mackinnon, the wife of Sandown Park managing director David Mackinnon, and formerly a GP in Thatcham.
