Drying conditions force change at Doncaster

DRYING conditions have changed the going from soft tosoft, good to soft in places on both the straight and round course.

The forecast is for a dry morning with showers this afternoon and between 2-5mm of rain predicted in total.

A false rail has been removed to produce 4.5m of fresh ground from thebottom of Rose Hill into the straight.

Clerk of the course David Williams said: "After a dry day yesterday and dry conditions overnight, I've changed the going to soft, good to soft in places all over the course.

"On the round course, I've taken the false rail out from Rose Hill into the straight giving four and a half metres of fresh ground.

"We're expecting 2-5mm of rain this afternoon. Tonight is forecast to be overcast, but with a better forecast for tomorrow, Ladbrokes St Leger day."
