Ryan delight at Sprint Cup switch for Wi Dud
KEVIN RYAN is delighted that the Sprint Cup has been switched to Doncaster on Saturday, allowing Wi Dud to take his chance in the Group 1 contest.
The colt's losing stretch dates back to September 2006 but the application of blinkers seemed to rekindle some enthusiasm when he finished a close-up third in the Flying Five Stakesat the Curragh last time.
He was set to reappear in the Sprint Cup just six days later but, as that race was cancelled due to the abandonment of Haydock, he will now get more time to recuperate.
"The plan is to run Wi Dud andit has all worked out well for us really as he gets that extra week to get over his last race," said Ryan.
"We were delighted with his run that day and the blinkers sharpened him up and gave him some confidence, so it worked out well.
"He is in good form and we are looking forward to the weekend."
