Fahey mob-handed in quest for Lincoln win

RICHARD FAHEY could have as many as six runners in the William Hill Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster on April 2 as he bids to win the race for the first time.

The Malton trainer won the William Hill Spring Mile with Irish Heartbeat at Doncaster last year as well as saddling runner up Prime Exhibit in the Lincoln, and that pair could be joined in the line-up by Mull of Killough who finished third in the race when trained at the time by John Spearing.

Castles In The Air, Our Joe Mac and Kyllachy Star complete the list of contenders for the Lincoln.

Fahey said: "It's a race I would love to win and I been placed in it so many times. It looks like all six would get in and they have been cantering for three weeks already and will step up in the work in the next few weeks."

Fahey made a lightening fast start to the turf season last year when sending out Irish Heartbeat, Chiswick Bey and Red Jade to win on the opening day of Doncaster's Lincoln meeting and followed with a double with Deadly Encounter and Kaldoun Kingdom on the second day.
