Madame Trop Vite lands Flying Childers
REPORT: FLYING CHILDERS STAKES, Friday:
MADAME TROP VITE came late and fast under ashrewd Ted Durcan ride to clinch the Group 2 Flying Childers Stakes at 11-1 on day three of Doncaster's St Leger festival.
The recent Newbury winner, the supposed Kevin Ryan second-string behind favourite Senor Mirasol, had the benefit of the rail and came out of the pack to edge out Anglezarke (14-1) and Mythical Border (10-1) in a blanket finish.
Neil Callan had the pick the two Ryan runners and following the race, Durcan sympathised with his fellow jockey's tough decision.
Winning trainer Kevin Ryan said: "She deserves this as we have always thought she was a high-class filly, but the ground is key to her.
"She ran at Newmarket on fast ground during the summer and came home sore. But on this kind of ground she acts very well and I think she would get another furlong in it too.
"The Cheveley Park would be on her agenda, but the ground will determine where she goes."
