Nozic heads 47 entries for Thyestes Handicap
NOZIC, winner of the Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase at Wetherby on Boxing day, heads the weights for the Ellen Construction Thyestes Handicap at Gowran Park on January 22.
The Paul Nicholls-trained chaser has been allotted 11st 13lb, on a mark of 160 which is 7lb higher than when he achieved his seventh win over fences in the Wetherby race.
Snowy Morning is second in the weights on 11-9 followed by Cane Brake, third behind Exotic Dancer and War Of Attrition in the Lexus Chase, on 11-7 and Dear Villez, Nicholls's Munster National winner, on 11-4.
The 47 entries for the 3m event also include the last three winners of the race -Preists Leap (2008), Homer Wells (2007) and Dun Doire (2006).
Preists Leap, successful off a mark of 125 a year ago, is 10lb higher but on the same weight (10-2). Dun Doire has 10-1 and Homer Wells 10st.
The maximum allowed run is 18.
