Settled behind the trailblazing Lisselan Diva, Olivier Peslier set sail for home inside the final two furlongs and had a length to spare at the line over the fast-finishing Gammarth.

"I've ridden him several times before and he's very tough and he likes to be up with the pace, so I sat just off the leader," said Peslier. "He's an improving horse."

Delighted owner Helen Checkley was enjoying success with Monsieur Joe in a third different country following wins at venues including York and Meydan.

"He's got an entry in the Nunthorpe and we'll probably send him back to Dubai again," she said. "He's been twice before and he thrives out there."
The John Hills-trained B Fifty Two finished sixth after threatening to get involved in the finish.

"The draw was against us because there was a lot of pace up the fence and we got left out on a limb a bit," said his rider Seb Sanders. "We were also hoping for a bit better ground but there was very heavy rain and it went on the soft side, so I thought he ran admirably considering."
