Move In Time remains unbeaten for O'Meara
Report: Doncaster, Saturday
bet365 Handicap (Class 2) 6f, 4yo+
MOVE IN TIME made it two from two since moving to new trainer David O'Meara, and in doing so landed the biggest pot of his career in the £50,000 bet365 Handicap.
Crossing the line a jubilant jockey Danny Tudhope punched the air in celebration, a beaming smile emanating from his face after a job very well done.
Tipped up by Pricewise at 10-1 (returned 7-1), he followed in the footsteps of earlier selection Gabrial (advised at 4-1), running out a ready winner under Tudhope and leading home Shropshire by three-quarters of a length, with Hitchens and Hamza filling the places.
"He's proved today that he's fairly versatile trip wise but the jury is still out over whether he's better at five or six furlongs," said O'Meara.
"We gelded him before Christmas and he's a nice horse to have. Where we go next, I don't know - we'll see what the handicapper does."
Always prominent, Move In Time was up with a strong pace and, as those around him began to wilt and those held up, such as Shropshire and Hitchens, began to work through the field, Move In Time was the only one capable of maintaining the advantage he had built earlier in the race.
Entering the final furlong both Shropshire and Hitchens laid down their challenge but Tudhope and Move In Time picked up for the company and held off both.
