My Catch makes it two wins in a week in France

Report: France, Sunday
Deauville: Prix de Cabourg Jockey Club de Turquie (Group 3) 1m, 2yo

MY CATCH made all under Jamie Spencer to take the Prix de Cabourg at Deauville for Qatar Racing and trainer David Brown.

The favourite, who was looking to make it two wins in a week across the Channel, broke away from the stalls well and was quickly taken to the lead along the rail by Spencer.

Jally, the closest market rival to My Catch, was not as smooth beginning his race and was held up towards the rear of the field by Christophe Soumillon before being produced late on.

However, Spencer's mount responded well for pressure and was never headed, repelling Jally's late charge and holding Christophe Lemaire and Al Muthana in second.

After the race Brown suggested My Catch could return to France if he does not take his chance in York's Gimcrack.

He said: "I had this plan a couple of weeks ago, to bring him over early for Wednesday's race, win that with his head in his chest and then, come here. It was probably a brave move but I think this horse is pretty good.

"Maybe I could see him going to York, he's in the Gimcrack. Or he could come back here for the Morny."
