DAR RE MI will miss the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday after suffering a bruised foot, trainer John Gosden revealed on Friday.
The mare, who won the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan in March, was returning from a break when finishing fourth to Twice Over in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown and has pleased her trainer in her work, with the return to 1m4f expected to bring about further improvement.
However, Dar Re Mi - who was as short as 12-1 with Totesport for Saturday's Group 1 - was confirmed as non-runner just after 10.20am on Friday and targets like the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks will probably now enter calculations.
Gosden said: "Dar Re Mi will not run in the King George - she has a stone bruise in her foot."
