Godolphin chase more Floodlit Stakes success
GODOLPHIN seek a fifth winner of the Listed Floodlit Stakes (7.00) in the last six years at Kempton tonight with Urban Dance lining up for trainer Charlie Appleby in the 1m4f contest.
A winner of his first two starts, Urban Dance finished second in a handicap at Newmarket on his most recent outing at the end of September.
The three-year-old, a close relation to Sea The Stars and Galileo, faces six rivals at Kempton including the useful duo Gatewood and Pether's Moon.
Appleby said: "We're hoping for a bit of improvement on the synthetics and hope he'll run a nice race. Last time we dropped him in a bit too far as we were stepping him up in trip."
Racing also takes place at Warwick, Fairyhouse, Nottingham and Chepstow today, where Tony McCoy's quest for 4,000 winners has been hampered by the withdrawal of one of his intended mounts. The champion jockey has one ride and is on 3,998 winners over jumps.
Loughalder is a perfect 3-3 in handicap chases at Chepstow - at other courses he is 0-5. The seven-year-old goes in the 3m handicap chase at 3.50.
