CONNECTIONS of Crowded House report the 2008 Racing Post Trophy winner to be in great form following his second in Thursday's Group 3 Al Rashidiya at the Dubai Carnival.
Patrick McEwan, assistant trainer to Brian Meehan and supervising the five-strong team from Manton, expects Crowded House to improve for his long awaited return to action at Meydan.
"He has taken the race very well and wewere all delighted with that performance.
"He was fine after the race, is in great form today and the outing should have brought him on a lot," McEwan said on Sunday.
Settled in last by Jamie Spencer, thefour-year-old travelled strongly over a trip shorter than ideal, before making late headway to chase home Godolphin's Alexandros in the first race on Meydan's turf course.
McEwan added: "The boss (Meehan) is back in the UK, but is looking at a race on February 18 for his next run.
"We will stick to the turf and hopefully he can have a good carnival and get invited for World Cup night."
The carnival contest was Crowded House's first outing since he finished a creditable sixth in last year's Derby.
