Leicester Tuesday meeting goes ahead
LEICESTER will race on Tuesday after the course was declared fit for action without the need for a second check at 11am.
After an initial inspection at 8.30am, clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson haddecided to look again at 11am but was confident of racing, and he was vindicated with the decision to race made just after 10.30am.
Stevenson said: "The stewards, myself and a couple of jockeys have been out to have a look andwe're all happy. We'll remove the covers now, and we're all ready to go."
The first race is due off at 12.50pm, with the official going described as soft, good to soft in places on the hurdle course and good, good to firm in places on the chase course.
