SEDGEFIELD will hold an inspection at 8am on Tuesday for racing in the afternoon.
Clerk of the course, Charlie Moore, said: "We are very hopeful of racing, but we are getting wintry showers and although no snow is lying, Monday's temperature has not got as high as expected so there is a risk it could get below the OC to 2C we are forecast tonight."
The going was described as heavy on Tuesday afternoon, with a GoingStick reading of 6.1 on the chase course, and 6.4 on the hurdles course.
Officials at Market Rasen are confident that racing will take place as scheduled on the same afternoon.
Spokeswoman Sulekha Varma, said: "I am pretty confident at the moment. We have had light snow showers on
Monday, but it hasn't settled and the temperature is not due to fall below freezing overnight."
