Kempton Lanzarote card subject to inspection
KEMPTON became the third racecourse to call an inspection for Saturday after arranging an 8am check before its Lanzarote Hurdle meeting.
Temperature are forcast to get as low as -2C at the track, which is scheduled to host three races on Channel 4.
"The inspection is precautionary due to the temperatures, which could get as low as -1C or -2C," said clerk of the course Barney Clifford on Friday afternoon.
"If we get frost and then a morning cloud cover or a mist then we could be in danger so I thought it best to check."
"The track is in great condition. The chase course is good, while the hurdles course is good, good to soft in places and probably just a little bit dead in places."
The take-offs, landings and other vulnerable areas have been covered since Friday afternoon to help the seven-race card, due to start at 12.30pm with the William Hill Lanzarote Hurdle at 2.50pm, get the go-ahead.
Wetherby and Punchestown will also inspect at 8am for their fixtures.
