Officials 'very hopeful' for Saturday's meeting
HUNTINGDON remained "very hopeful" on Friday morning that the course will be free of frost in time for Saturday's meeting to go-ahead.
Stewards will inspect at 3pm on Friday, but with conditions improving after 8mm of rain overnight and a continuing thaw, a further inspection is likely to be arranged for Saturday morning.
Andrew Morris, clerk of the course, told racingpost.com on Friday morning: "Although we couldn't race at the moment, things are improving and the frost is coming out of the ground. Snow was never an issue here. We're positive, and remain very hopeful that racing will go-ahead."
The ground is good to soft, soft in places (frozen in places).
