Hough escapes Great Leighs with bruising

CHRIS HOUGH suffered only bruising when involved in a nasty accident in the stalls at Great Leighs on Thursday evening.

The 21-year-old was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg when Lost All Alone became unruly in the stalls in the Sudbury Apprentice Handicap but his injuries were not as bad as first feared.

Trainer David Simcock, to whom he is apprenticed, said: "The horse has never done this before in his life but he put his head down in the stalls and Chris, instead of jumping off, stayed with the horse and got his leg trapped against the stalls. He has just bruised his leg and will have a quiet week before he comes back."
