It is a fair old trek down from Tom Dascombe's base in the north west of England to the south coast but connections are hoping that the hike will pay dividends for Chosen Character.
The four-year-old, who can be backed at 7-1, is set to carry top-weight in the race, having won his last three starts.
Like others towards the top of the weights, connections have chosen to take weight off his back, in this case using the services of Natasha Eaton who has been on board in two of the recent successes.
Colin Gorman, assistant to Dascombe, said: "Natasha has got a bit of a rapport with him and he won't mind any ground. They will go nice and quick which suits him and the handicapper has left him alone on 80. It's a long trip down and we're very hopeful."
As well as Brighton, they also race at Newcastle and Pontefract this afternoon while Kempton and Yarmouth provide the evening action. In Ireland, there is racing at Sligo this evening.
