CHILWORTH ICON (Mick Channon/Sam Hitchcott) justified 10-9 favouritism to give his trainer a third win in this race, earning the €28,000 first prize with a neck defeat of Tiger Day.

The pair of them finished a length and a quarter clear of third-placed Cloud, who was reversing recent form with Stefano Botti's Freetown, a disappointing fifth here.
Chilworth Icon was giving a boost to Royal Ascot winner Tha'Ir, to whom he had finished fifth when giving away weight all round in the Chesham Stakes, having previously won over this trip in the Listed Investec Woodcote Stakes at Epsom on Derby day.
Channon had landed this contest with Kingsinger (1996) and Guest Connection (2005), while he was also responsible for Obe Gold, relegated from first to second by the stewards eight years ago.
