ALL FUR COAT made every yard of the 5f opener at Chester to record a cosy victory under course specialist Franny Norton.
The Jo Hughes-trained juvenile broke quickly from the stalls in rain-softened conditions and Norton got the 9-2 shot to the front to lead from 11-4 favourite Just Past Andover and Tharawal Lady.
All Fur Coat kept up the gallop round the Roodee turns and came home a two-and-a-quarter length winner from Just Past Andover with the running-on Baddilini a further length and a quarter back in third.
Hughes said: "She's very speedy and straightforward at home, but you never know how they will handle the unique turns of Chester.
"She would have preferred better ground, but the rain has not got into it yet, so I think we've got away with it."
Wayne and Coleen Rooney made a losing start to racehorse ownership as Pippy never got going under Richard Kingscote and finished last of the eight runners.
