OFFICIALS at Chepstow will inspect the course at 11.30am on Friday before the track's evening meeting scheduled the same day.
Up to 8mm of rain is forecast throughout the afternoon and the ground is officially described as heavy.
The course tweeted on Friday: "We are having a precautionary inspection at 11.30 for this evening's races. Going - heavy, 4mm rain overnight, up to 10-12mm forecast thru' today."
Chepstow is due to stage a seven-race jumps card, starting at 4.40pm, on Friday.
